ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਈਟੀ ਹਾਥਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਫੁਨਿ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਉ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ ਰਸਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਤਬ ਮਥੀਐ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥2॥

Let your mind be the handles, and then churn it, without sleeping in eyes. Chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, with your tongue, then the curd will be churned. In this way, the Ambrosial Nectar is obtained.

ਭਲੀ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਛਾਪਰੀ ਜਾ ਮਹਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ॥

Sublime and beauteous is the hut, wherein God's praises are sung.

ਪੀਸਨੁ ਪੀਸਿ ਓਢਿ ਕਾਮਰੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤੋਖਾਏ ॥

One may have to grind grains, and wear a coarse-blanket, but still, one can find peace of mind and contentment.

ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਐਸਾ ਜੈਸੇ ਘਾਸ ਕੀ ਟਾਟੀ ॥ ਜਲਿ ਗਇਓ ਘਾਸੁ ਰਲਿ ਗਇਓ ਮਾਟੀ ।।

This body is like a tenement of grass. When it is burnt it mixes with dust.

ਵਿਧਣ ਖੂਹੀ ਮੁੰਧ ਇਕੇਲੀ ।।

The Lonely soul-bride suffers in the dreadful well of the world.

ਦੇਉ ਸੂਹਨੀ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਬੀਜਨੁ ਢੋਲਾਵਉ ॥

With broom I sweep the abode of Holy Saints and wave fan over them.

ਕਾਢਿ ਕੁਠਾਰੁ ਖਸਮਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਗਇਆ ਹੈ ਖਾਕੁ ॥

Lifting up an axe, the Master chopped off his head, within moment he reduced to dust.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੈ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਟੋਹਨੀ ॥

The Ambrosial Name of my Beloved, is like a support-stick to a blind feet.

ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ॥ ਪਗ ਨੇਵਰ ਛਨਕ ਛਨਹਰੀ ॥

This bride is so beautiful. Her anklets (ankle-ornaments) tinkle on her feet.

ਜੈਸੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਮਹਿ ਬਲਹਰ ਨਾ ਠਾਹਰੈ ॥

As the house will not stand when the supporting beams are removed from within it.
