ਬਨਾਸਪਤੀ (Vegetation)

ਖੇਚਰ ਭੂਚਰ ਤੁਲਸੀ ਮਾਲਾ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਇਆ।।

Breath-control, focusing of attention and wearing of the rosary of sweet basil; these I hve found all in the Guru's grace.

ਜਿਉ ਚੰਦਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸੈ ਨਿੰਮੁ ਬਿਰਖਾ ਗੁਨ ਚੰਦਨ ਕੇ ਬਸਖੇ ।।2।।

Like the bitter margosa tree (nimm), growing near the sandalwood tree, permeated with the fragrance of sandalwood. ||2||

ਕੋਕਿਲ ਅੰਬਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਬੋਲੈ ਕਿਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਅਮਕਿ ਸਹੀਜੈ ।।

ਝੂਠਿ ਵਿਗੁਤੀ ਤਾ ਪਿਰ ਮੁਤੀ ਕੁਕਹ ਕਾਹ ਸਿ ਫੁਲੇ।।

ਕਿਨਹੀ ਬਨਜਿਆ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਤਾਂਬਾ ਕਿਨਹੀ ਲਉਗ ਸੁਪਾਰੀ।।

Some deal in bronze and copper, some in cloves and betel nuts.

ਕਦਲੀ ਪੁਹਪ ਧੂਪ ਪਰਗਾਸ ।।

Banana flower like colour and sunshine like light shines within.

ਜੈਸੇ ਭਾਦਉ ਖੂੰਬਰਾਜੁ ਤੂ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਖਰੀ ਉਤਾਵਲੀ ।।

Like the big mushroom of the month of August-September (Bhadon); thou are much more short-lived than even that.

ਨਿੰਮੁ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਬਹੁ ਸੰਚੀਐ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ।।

Even you water a bitter margosa tree (nimm) with ambrosial nectar [does not abandons its bitterness].

ਅਕ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਅਕ ਤਿਡਾ ਅਕ ਡਾਲੀ ਬਹਿ ਖਾਇ ।।

Cricket insect loves the swallow wort; sits on its branch and eats it.

ਤੋਇਅਹੁ ਅੰਨੁ ਕਮਾਦੁ ਕਪਾਹਾਂ ਤੋਇਅਹੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣੁ ਗੰਨਾ ।।

Grains, sugar cane and cotton are produced with water. The three worlds are also formed from water.
